I Wanna Be Your Dog Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

suicideblonde:

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I Wanna Be Your Dog (Iggy Pop and the Stooges cover)

And now I wanna be face to face
And I lay right down in my favorite place
(you know where that is)

Eileen Barton with the New Yorkers - If I Knew You Were Comin' I'd've Baked A Cake Various Artists

bohemea:

Eileen Barton with the New Yorkers - If I Knew You Were Comin’ I’d’ve Baked A Cake

If I knew you were comin’ I’d’ve baked a cake
Hired a band, goodness sake!
If I knew you were comin’ I’d’ve baked a cake
Howd-ya do, howd-ya do, howd-ya do!

I got into this song because it’s one of the songs on the excellent compilation album A Date With John Waters. It always reminds me of Amy Sedaris with it’s cheeky domesticity. Tonight I read that it was used in the opening credits of the TV series Exit 57, which Amy starred in with Paul Dinello, Stephen Colbert, Mitch Rouse & Jodi Lennon. I also read that the song was featured in a Sesame Street bit from it’s first season in 1969. It is adorable! And finally, Bob Hope & Bing Crosby recorded an absolutely hilarious & super fun version of the song together with some altered lyrics.
